Silence is not luck. It is a process with five steps and one number at the end.

Method

01 · Five steps68 → 25 dB

From a plot to the first quiet night.

  1. 01 Silence audit We place sound meters on the plot and record day and night, weekdays and weekends. You get a sound map and an honest answer: build here or keep looking. 7 days
    68 → 55 dB
An architect in a dark coat kneels beside a sound meter in a misty meadow at dawn
  2. 02 Concept We turn the house away from noise and towards light: volume, courtyard, where each room sits. You see the idea in drawings and models. 6 weeks
    55 → 44 dB
Pencil plan of a long house with a courtyard, a deck and a jetty
  3. 03 Design & acoustics Architect and acoustic engineer work side by side. Every wall, window and duct is checked against the target number. 4 months
    44 → 33 dB
Stone model of the house on a drafting table in hard sunlight
  4. 04 Construction We are on site every week. Acoustic tests at three points of the build, not once at the end. 12–18 months
    33 → 27 dB
Rammed earth walls rising on a hillside building site
  5. 05 The first night We measure the bedroom with you after you move in. The number goes into your house file. 1 night
    27 → 25 dB
The living room at night, the moon over the lake
02 · The promise25 dB

25 dB in every bedroom. Written in the contract.

If the number is higher

We fix it at our cost. The measurement is done together with you, on the first night, in the bedroom.
